This weekend set off the beginning of peek wedding season for Set The Mood Decor.  We started off with a soft romantic wedding a the stunning Legends On The Niagara.

We provided our; Fancy Lace Ivory/Gold Overlays for all of the guest tables, sure to make a statement.  For the head table we switched it up and used the Fancy Lace Overlays in Champagne.

For the grand focal point were the bride and groom we sitting, a large swooped backdrop in our Fancy Style a large crystal brooch at the focal point to complete the look.  Bringing everything together is very important so the cake table was also draped in the same material as the backdrop; with a classic Side Swoop Drape and brooch of course.  We are in love with the side swoop!

A finishing touch the blush bowtie napkin, pearl napkin rings provided by the bride.

Congrats to the wonderful bride and groom.

We ended 2015 with a bang!  One final wedding on New Years Eve; it was, glitzy and glam, sparkle and shine!

A ceremony with a classic white backdrop, black satin chair covers, vases with candles and rhinestone mesh, altar stands draped and then some accessories from the bride, pew bows and altar arrangements with more crystal touches.  The perfect beginning to an amazing night and marriage.

The reception party was in the same venue just a different room.  The bride wanted some amazing lighting and got the ceiling all lit with icicle lights it was stunning and just made everything else sparkle that little bit more.

We started the look with black sequin table clothes, silver charger plates, black napkins with silver rhinestone napkin rings, black satin chair covers with silver rhinestone wraps around the back.

A fancy style backdrop and a simple white draping with rhinestone mesh across the top of the head table completed the look; a few spot lights under the table for a little more lighting.

An amazing way to end one year and start the next!  Congrats to this amazing couple and a great way to celebrate their anniversary for years to come.

This past weekend we had the pleasure of helping creating a beautiful festive holiday afternoon wedding.

We also had the pleasure of featuring our new white ruched scuba/ poly blend chair covers.  These chair covers are extremely elegant at the same time as modern and sleek.  These chair covers were used for the ceremony and reception.

The event took place at the stunning Queens Landing in Niagara On The Lake and it is fully decorated for the holiday season.  We added a head table draped with icicle lights, which tied in nicely with all of the other holiday decor.

Congrats to the bride and groom.

Romantic Seasonal Wedding

Last weekend was a romantic seasonal wedding but not too festive.

The Stone Mill Ballroom hosted this beautiful wedding for this amazing bride and groom.  A head table draped with sheer white voile and icicle lights was the focal point of the room.  It was adorned with red rose bouquets and candles.  The centerpieces were red roses submerged in water, with several other vases, water and floating candles.  Candles create such a romantic feel; which is what the bride and groom really wanted.

Large altar arrangements for the ceremony, with some pops of red roses again.

Flowers, centerpieces, altar arrangements, head table draping all provided by Set The Mood Decor.

Holiday Season is upon us

It’s that time of the year again; the time when there is so much decorating, cooking, parties, glitter and celebrations with family and friends.  We spent this week decorating a venue to create their seasonal holiday look for all of the Christmas parties that are coming up over the next month or so.  We will update the blog shortly with some nice night shots with the lights on.

Every year we change the colors of all of the trees and add a little more then previous year.  We love to surprise all of the guests with different colors and looks from the previous years.

This year, with burlap being so popular as well as the country, rustic look; that is what we opted for the tree in the main lobby area, garland over the fireplace and numerous other the garlands and wreaths throughout.

Our second tree in the smaller hall we decided to keep simple and elegant doing the classic silver with a light mint green accent.  This color is so soft and makes you feel like you are looking at simple elegance.

Last but not least the main hall tree.  This tree was planned based on a large wedding that is taking place the week before Christmas.  A holiday bride, who in keeping with the season is doing a white, black and gold wedding.  This tree is non traditional but perfect to express a more modern look with that glitter that everyone loves.  I can’t wait to post photo’s of the December wedding and the tree to match.

Navy Hall, Niagara On The Lake

Last weekend we had the pleasure of decorating the Navy Hall in Niagara On The Lake for the first time.  We have been in business for many many years and never had the opportunity to decorate the Navy Hall.

It is a historic site, quaint and cozy for a smaller wedding; so really does not require a lot of decor.

The bride and groom however did what chair covers; which always make a room feel like a wedding.  They opted for the DIY option and put the white satin pillowcase on themselves.

I provided a backdrop which was a big concern for them as the venue has a large historic photo on the back wall with 2 large flags.  They just wanted something a little more neutral to make them the focal point of the evening, as well as to create a nice backdrop for photo’s.  The backdrop that we felt suited the venue and the feel of their wedding best was the triangle style, we completed the look with glitter bands in the couples color, plum.

Also a little simple draping on the head table.

It’s been a while – The GREAT BIG EUROPEAN TRIP

It’s been a very long time since a blog post but we were on a GREAT BIG EUROPEAN family vacation.

Never being to Europe I have to say this was an amazing experience.  Travelling from Venice, Italy to Wegen, Switzerland to Milan, Italy to Vasto, Italy to Meta, Italy and finally Rome, Italy.  Each place with it’s own unique foods, history and scenery.

How inspiring old rich history and scenery can be!  I have been back 3 weeks refreshed and ready for a very inspired 2016 season; full of new and exciting trends.

I wanted to share some of my most inspiring photo’s with all of my readers, customers and friends.

Venice and one of it’s waterways.  It’s a little hard to get your bearings because there are so many water ways and bridges but this is a special place on our planet.

Switzerland, the most scenic place on earth, taken from in Wegen looking into the Lauterbrunnen Valley.  It is hard which picture is my favorite as they are all equally amazing.

Milan Duomo – this most beautiful detailed church/cathedral I have ever seen.  The second image is the door.  You could sit there for a month and still find a new detail every day.

The coast along Casalbordino and Vasto.  There is very little tourism here and the beach is so quiet!

DeannaFlowersFinalPayment 510

Meta – the view from the harbour/beach facing the Almafi Coast.  Meta is a smaller town, very quaint for a tourist area.

Rome, there is truly nothing like it.  This is Palatine Hill and The Roman Forum and the interior of the Colosseum.

Playful Wedding Glam in a Natural Setting

Rustic, Bohemian, Glam and Retro; these are all the styles that we tastefully intertwined to form the basis of this unique wedding concept. We are very happy and are so excited to share this wedding from two weekends ago with everyone.

The wedding took place at the Kortright Conservation Centre in Woodbridge.  I only have rave reviews for the venue and was left extremely impressed with the staff.  They were, warm, professional, organized and extremely helpful!  The venue / setting could not have been any more gorgeous.

The ceremony took place in a beautiful wooded, shady area, which was a perfect setting for this couple to exchange their intimate vows.  We setup an open style backdrop to provide and airy and light focal point behind the bride and groom while allowing the guests a great view of the forest.  We added rushed white chair covers throughout the ceremony for an added touch of elegance.  There were over sized flower arrangements on stumps to complete the look and add a natural element.

The reception took place in the “Glass House” which is already such a striking venue on it’s own but we really wanted to elevate the space to something quite grand.  With a great deal of creative license from the bride, we had the amazing opportunity to showcase the best of our skills and offerings.  This wedding was truly custom and one of a kind, it has left a lasting impression, as we look towards the future of Set the Mood Decor.

To complete the look of the Glass House, our first goal was to add more lanterns to the existing white ones that the venue keeps up year round.  We added peach/coral, gold sparkle/shine and grey lanterns in various sizes to match the color scheme of the table decor, giving the whole room a more cohesive feeling.

With all of the natural dark wood we really wanted to not go to dark with the decor.  We decided that the one dark element would be the grey chair covers with ties attached.

To elevate the space further we were looking for a showstopper that created some glam, so we opted to cover all of the tables with our fancy ivory and gold sequin, lace overlays.  For our touch of retro, the bride presented the great idea of using records as her table numbers.  We loved it! And decided to play off the retro vibe and went for a pinwheel napkin fold with a peach napkin to keep the tabletops looking bright and funky.

The centerpieces truly helped tie everything together using every color in our scheme in a harmonious and elegant way.  Small pops of burgundy were added to ground the tables and tie into the neutrals of the chair covers and the venue itself. All of the flower work was provided by Ballamy Flowers in Brampton. The flowers were the finishing touch and were truly a labor of love.

To complete the head table area we added a small backdrop that featured icicle lights for a more intimate feel later in the evening.  We continued with the icicle lights under the head table, both were quite simply draped, adding extra emphasis to the head table, creating an intimate and exclusive space for the wedding party. .

It was quite a challenge to create these spaces while being outdoors on one of the hottest weekends of the summer but the rewards of seeing our vision come to fruition and the happiness of the Bride and Groom was well worth the effort.

Congrats to Hayley and Andrew and thank you for allowing us to create something so timeless and memorable for you both!

Royal Blue and a Dash of Yellow

The brides favorite colors really brought this wedding to life!  A great setting John Michael’s Banquet Hall; was the venue for this amazing wedding.  We were happy to dress it up with a backdrop, head table and cake table draping with icicle lights and complete the look with brooches at the focal points and some fresh yellow rose petals.

Our crystal centerpieces with a white flower ball and tiny yellow accents were perfect to add a little height to this room.

What a wonderful couple, we wish them all the best in the future!
